Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training Tier 1 (Part 2)

Claim 100% of the course fee:
Adult social care employers in England can claim 100% of the course fee through the ASC Learning & Development Support Scheme (LDSS), subject to funding eligibility and satisfactory course completion.
About the training:
This one-hour online course provides a general awareness of the support autistic people and/or people with a learning disability may need. It includes real-life perspectives from experts with lived experience.
Why this matters:
- Statutory training requirement for all staff who need awareness of the support people with a learning disability and/or autism may need.
- Backed by the Oliver McGowan Code of Practice
- Ensures workforce confidence, compliance and improved care outcomes
Who it’s for:
This course is for staff who need a general awareness and understanding of learning disability and autism, rather than those who provide direct specialist care or support. It is intended for people whose roles may bring them into contact with autistic people and/or people with a learning disability, but who do not require the more in-depth Tier 2 training.
Typical examples include:
- Administrative staff
- Facilities staff
- Volunteers
- Other non-clinical or support staff who may interact with patients, service users, or the public.
Important to know:
Please be aware, before attending this course, delegates MUST complete Part 1 of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training Tier 1 (a 1 one hour e-learning module). Failure to complete Part 1 may invalidate your Part 2 certificate and eligibility to claim reimbursement for course fees.
